I have a 1962 Ford 4000 Diesel tractor that I installed these on to replace using the old standard flat bar stabilizers. These allow you to tighten up the chain so the item (e.g. bush hog, plow, disk, etc.) does not move at all. I recommend keeping 2 adjustable wrenches with you so you can tighten up the adjustable nuts, to keep it from vibrating and the chain becoming loose. I could not keep the chain tight by trying to tighten the nut by hand. I don't have to worry about the lynch pins coming off anymore and bending a stabilizer bar. I highly recommend these over the old flat stabilizer bars. So far, I have used them with a 6' bush hog and it did not move from side to side at all. It was nice to use the bush hog without having to worry about the stabilizers falling off from the grass/weeds pulling the lynch pins out from under the tractor. I'm glad I bought them and highly recommend them.
