I just purchased this from Greenville added an external nesting box opposite from the main living area access doors which increased the nesting area from two(2) to four(4) hens might be able to squeeze one (1) internal nesting box, also will have to increase run with that note
The box has room for 2 laying hens. This is a great coop for raising 2 birds in the city where ther are not as many predators. Once a chicken is grown, a cat will leave it alone.
Comes in 2 boxes- 1 VERY large box and one medium sized. If you're picking it up at the store- bring a truck! The assembly was pretty straight forward- had it together in about an hour. We like the design- We open and close both doors and have them free-range daily but- we were looking for something that if we went on vacation, we could have one that we wouldn't have to get someone to open and close it every day. I think this should do it. The nesting boxes are perfect. The only things I modified are a piece of plexiglass over the main coop door and lowered the perch. It is pricey, but figuring the price of wood, someone to cut it, all the other materials and to design it- the price is fair. Good luck!
