State Extension Departments

State Extension Departments

All colleges and universities are involved in teaching our students, as well as research and development. However, in the United States, our universities are also involved in helping the community by meeting the public's needs through special programs called Extension programs. By contacting your state university's Extension Department, you have many helpful programs at your fingertips. Many of these programs are funded by NIFA, which uses grants earmarked by Congress. Today, these programs help farmers and homeowners through 4-H Youth programs, research and educational programs, leadership programs, educational programs, and community and economic development. For more information, contact your local Extension Department (listed below) or visit the CSREES website.
