Melt-in-Your-Mouth Venison Steak


  • Venison streaks, 2 lbs.
  • Meat tenderizer
  • Butter, melted, 1/4 cup plus 1 cup
  • Mushrooms, sliced, 1 cup
  • Garlic, powdered, 1/2 tsp.


  • Using a meat mallet, pound the venison steaks until they are tender. Sprinkle liberally with meat tenderizer; turn and sprinkle the other side with meat tenderizer.
  • Grill the venison until it is nearly done. When it is 2/3 of the way done, start basting the your venizon with melted butter. Turn the steaks and continue basting until it reaches the desired temperature.
  • Meanwhile, melt 1 cup of butter in a saucepan over medium high heat.
  • Add mushrooms, a sprinkle of salt, and garlic. Saute until mushrooms are soft.
  • Serve mushrooms over venison steaks and enjoy.
