I have been shopping for a flail mower and have looked at several online. Customer service and parts availability are most important to me. It is hard to determine quality based on write ups and pictures. Many point out the diameter of the rotor. Things to look for are how the belts are tension-ed. Coroni uses a spring tension on a pulley which I determine from a picture of the three belt which I believe keeps the belt tight all the time when using machine. Other brands of flail mowers require manual adjustment loosening the whole upper drive train and raising it. Other manufactures say heavy duty, but in my opinion, the total weight in pounds of the machine is a better indication of how much metal is put in the construction of the mower which result in durability. We all know parts wear out, if you are looking at a particular machine, before buy it, try to order a part like a bearing or a rotor. I can tell you that have purchased equipment from Agi-supply before, and they are my go-to for my farming needs. While I haven't purchase this unit yet, it's the one I going to buy.

Exceeded Expectations

I purchased the mower to clip pastures. We have a bush hog, but when I clip pastures it windrows the clippings and can smother the grass. I also wanted something to keep the rest of the farm mowed and looking neat. I have been using the the 73" Caroni Flail Mower for about a month. My tractor is rated at 45 horses at the PTO an it has enough power to cut even the most overgrown areas. I'm really pleased with the performance of this mower. I picked the mower up at the Garner, NC store. The guys were helpful loading the mower. They also checked the oil in the gearbox and got it to the correct level. This has been a great purchase for me. The mower is well built. I expect it will last for many, many years.

This mower really performs well and I would recommend it to anyone in the market. Ensure you grease and put gear oil in it - the mower is made in Italy and they do not notify the consumer in the same manner other countries do (US, Japan) that the entire unit is dry. The grease zerks have what appears to be pre-grease on them, but they are DRY. My SECOND concern, is that parts are TOTALLY relied upon through AgriSupply, a great business so far, but the risks are far greater with a European implement with one US supplier.

Made Very Solid

Very well made. It is extremely versatile. It can be hitched in the middle or in the offset. I am extremely happy with the quality of this Flail Mower. You can easily pay $3,000 for this Italian made Flail mower. It cuts grass or shredded saplings. You will never want to cut grass any other way. It is a Bush hog, rotary cutter, and finished mower all in one. It is worth every penny.

Very pleased - Inexpensive, effective and sturdy

Thought long and hard about flail vs rotary, went with flail in general because smaller (easier to maneuver) and safety (less likely to throw things). Wanted 6' width, went with Caroni because of price and proximity to dealer. Glad that the 73" model is "TM series", because it has sturdier blades and drive belts. I suspect that some complaints around the internet about flail mower durability are due to lighte duty models, because this one easily chopped up stems up to 2" in diameter, and tore right through some old fence wire I accidentally mowed into (got wrapped around the mowing drum, but took less than 5 minutes with some wire cutters to get it off - could have been much worse with a rotary if it wrapped around the shaft).

Love This Mower!!!!!

Works like a champ in grass or tall, heavy weeds!!!!! Makes easy work of light samplings as well. Highly suggest a hydraulic top link so as to minimize the digging of the skids. It is a must to have the rear roller properly adjusted. Doesn't leave clups of cut grass like a finish mower- where the grass is cut is where it lays.
