Reviews for Deluxe Finishing Mower, 7 ft., Rear Discharge
Heavier Duty than expected and very well made
This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

The finish mower received was noticeably more robust than anticipated. The construction includes substantial reinforcements in areas prone to damage, such as a half-inch bar encircling the rim and deck support gussets made from 3/8-inch or slightly thicker steel. The heavy-duty caster wheels are equipped with bearings and appear highly durable; they seem capable of withstanding normal use without bending unless you were really abusing it. Contrary to the warning sticker, the mower arrived pre-greased, and the gearbox was already filled with oil. The cutting height, on its highest setting, exceeds that of my previous mower, measuring approximately 4.5 to 5 inches. I plan to adjust this to achieve a finer cut. The blades are exceptionally sturdy for finishing blades, looking capable of tackling more than just grass—possibly even small tree stumps. A common critique I noticed online was the absence of grease zerks. However, this issue seems minor as the hubs can be modified to accommodate grease zerks relatively easily. I intend to install remote hoses to simplify the greasing process without removing the cover plates. Durability will be key, especially where the three-point attachment connects; this area shows potential stress points that could impact the pins over time. Nonetheless, any wear should be manageable with basic welding or metalworking tools. The mower was manufactured in January 2023 and has remained in excellent condition with minimal rust, only noticeable on a few metal corners. While the color differs from the traditional John Deere green, it matches other equipment from Titan, which isn't a significant issue for me. The primary motivation for purchasing this mower was to efficiently manage my 2.5-acre hilly lawn. My previous 60-inch Husqvarna garden tractor required four hours for a complete cut, whereas this mower reduces the time to 30 minutes. This efficiency is crucial during peak growing seasons when cutting twice a week is necessary. Despite the inflation, at $2,300, this mower presents significant value, especially compared to the current market prices of zero-turn mowers around $10,000. Even cutting at 8 miles an hour which was pretty fast on my land I couldn't see any difference in the cut quality versus going slower. If you were going faster on flatland I think it would be okay. The warning label says not to cut at more than 540 RPMs I have an economy PTO which will give me 540 RPMs at 1500 RPMs on the tractor PTO so if you have something similar you could theoretically run it slightly faster say $600 p.m. to get a run it slightly faster say to get greater blade tip speed. Well I'm not going to do that during the warranty. I can't see why it would be an issue if you wanted to have the PTO faster so you could mow quicker.

Agmate Estate Finishing Mower - well built machine

I purchased this mower last summer for cutting approximately 70 acres of pasture. I had been using a 6' brush hog but didn't like the rough cut on the grass. The Agmate is just like a big lawn mower - great quality of cut with sharp blades, but don't try to cut really tall, thick grass in one pass. Not cutting as often as I should, I have to go slower than with the brush hog, but the extra foot width averages out about the same cutting time with much better results. I do have to go over some spots twice to get it all cut down cleanly. My pastures aren't terribly rough, but do bounce the mower around pretty well. I've been impressed with how it's held up so far after a full season. Please remember - this is basically a big lawn mower, not a brush hog. Go slow, be patient, respect the limitations and you'll be pleased with what this mower does. My pastures looks like a golf course after a cutting. Very pleased with the purchase.

I purchased one of these mowers 5 years ago. I have mowed approximately 1000 acres, mostly very thick bahia since then. I operate a golf driving range. I pull it with a 240 Massey Ferguson. During the growing season I mow approximately 8 1/2 acres every 6-7 days. I have replaced the usual wheels, blades, belts, spindles but not very often. I wrote this review for anyone debating about buying one of these mowers to let them know it's a really dependable piece of equipment.

I did a LOT of research before purchasing this mower. I was actually looking to buy the 8' mower, but it was on back order until October '17. Payment, shipping and delivery were easy. Getting the mower off the pallet, greased and ready to mow was easy. I was quite impressed with how quiet the mower was. My 6' King Kutter was very loud! The disappointment came about 30 minutes into using the BRAND NEW mower. Both back wheels fell off (at different times). The spring implement pins fell out which caused the wheel assembly to fall off when the mower deck is raised. Simply replace the spring pins with cotter pins and no more issues. If you are looking for a mower that is capable of large areas to mow, I would recommend this mower. I have a John Deere 5205 diesel tractor that has more than enough power to handle this mower. While it is still very new to me, I like what I have seen so far.

Read the reviews and so glad I ordered if. The folks at the Valdosta store (sales and shipping) were absolutely great to deal with! This mower does a fantastic job and cut my mowing time from 6 1/2 or 7 hours (depending on grass height) to about 2 1/2 hours!

I bought this mower for my 2 1/2 acres around my home. What took me over 3 hrs with a Craftsman 42" rider, I now do in about an hour or so. My tractor is a 1964 Ford 2000 with the red tiger engine rated at 28 hp on the pto. The Ford has no problem running, lifting or pulling this mower. The deck, 3pt hitch and depth wheels are solidly built. It comes with a roller to keep it from scraping in high spots as it floats along the ground. The two belts that turn the three spindles are large and easy to get at. I must also say the price is the most reasonable that I found after looking for 3 months. It is every bit as well made as the bush hog estate mowers that I looked at. I am very pleased with this mower and would by another. On the downside though you can't grease the spindles but so far this has not been a problem. They need to show you more photos of it also as the picture on the page is not the 7ft. It also comes on a huge pallet that you have to help the trucker remove from his pup trailer, I used my 3pt. boom and had no trouble. Over all this is an excellent product!

I cut 3+ acres of grass a week around barns, sheds, pastures, and driveways. The bush hog tore the turf and left marks. I have used this mower 2 years now, and it does a great job. It looks like I cut it with a lawnmower. I have sandy soil, and the blades do not last a full season. I replaced the blades for the second time last fall. I replaced 2 spindles last fall also. I wish the spindles had grease fittings instead of being sealed units. The blades, and spindles are readily available at Agri Supply, and not real expensive. Replacement of blades and spindles is a do it yourself job, and does not take long. I pull this mower with a 2310 Ford, and it works great. It also works good behind my bigger tractor. I would recommend this mower to anyone looking for a finishing mower. The heavy gauge deck still looks new after 2 years of weekly use. For the price it is a great value.

This is a follow up on a review I recently wrote on the 7 Ft. Ag Mate finish Mower I bought April 17, 2014. Mr. Barbour with Agri-Supply red my review and contacted me. He made me a Happy Camper. Agri-Supply is great place to do business with. George

i wasnt very fond of my wife buying a machine i never laid eyes on,but i got over it real quick. a man that drives over the road has better things to do than ride a lawn mower .This is the way to mow grass 7 feet at a time. cost effective, its heavy duty old school construction easy to maintain. i don't see were this unit could have many problems ,as not a lot of moving parts to go wrong with (i like it makes life easyer)
