Excellent Tool

Bought this subsoiler / middle buster to tear through oak roots for burying some irrigation, drainage and underground utilities. This thing took everything I tree at it, no issue. Wish there was a 2" receiver attachment I could use in place of the subsoiler. This would make an excellent heavy duty trailer hitch. Order# 1904617400

Great implement

I bought this to bury wire for a dog fence on our 25 acre property. I used this subsoiler in conjunction with item 73622 to do the job. I found the upper link attachment point to be a bit wide such that my link pin barely had enough length to catch the spring pin that retains it. It has shear bolt protection and has two positions the shank can be operated in, the upper gives 16" from cross bar to point and the power gives 20". It had no problem digging in my upstate SC clay. I also bought a furrowed blade to use with this in the garden or for ditching. It did come with a grade 8 bolt in the shear bolt position and Called customer support who confirmed it should be a grade 2 bolt. Even with this hiccup, I highly recommend this tool.

Subsoiler

I bought this to use in the garden. I used it Saturday to lay off rows. It worked great. It is a very well built tool. It is adjustable so it can be used at different depths and behind different size tractors. It is much better than the King Kutter unit I replaced. As always, the service at ASC is second to none.

Worked well for digging out old privet roots
This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

I bought this primarily to use with the pipelayer attachment. Before trying the pipelayer I tried the subsoiler on some old privet root balls that had been too large for me to uproot with the grapple rake on my old JD 2130. With the subsoiler I made a few passes at the root balls and was eventually able to pull some of them out. I expect that between my grapple and the subsoiler I will now be able to uproot much larger of the hated privets than with the grapple alone. For this application it would be nice if the subsoiler itself could be moved to one side, so as to get closer to the main root ball, but then that would really be a different tool altogether. I did have less success with the pipelayer attachment.

More robust than what I expected!

I have been shopping for sometime for a good subsoiler. I have passed over this one many times until I read a review that said it had shear bolt protection. For me, you can't have a subsoiler without shear bolt protection! Your asking for trouble with a solid welded frame like many of the competitors. I didn't expect the subsoiler to be built as well as it is. The draw pin arm is made out of a solid square tube, not a piece of angle iron. This is hands down the best subsoiler that I have found from any competitor, even the more expensive ones. My Mahindra 2816 handles this attachment well. Highly recommended.

This also works great with middle buster plow model 15424. I imagine it would work with others as well.

Liked that it has sheer bolts. Fits perfit to my ford 2110. Ran it bar deep in red clay that hasn't seen a plow in 30 years.
