Bought this for the new house that came with sod. The sod wasn't consistently laid, and the ground wasn't prepped correctly leading to a bumpy, rough lawn. Filled drum to max capacity and got to work. This roller is fantastic! After a few passes the sod compacted well, ensuring good root contact. Smoothed a lot of the lawn quite a bit. I would have given 5 stars, but roller did not include the advertised scraper? Highly recommended.
