Got a sweet tooth? Try out this yummy dessert recipe from Carolina ALL OUT. Watch as Chef Chad uses fresh strawberries and some simple ingredients to bake this delicious puff pastry! Perfect for Summer or anytime of year, you can get creative by using a variety of fruits to make this quick & easy dessert. Baking is so easy using your Carolina Cooker® cast iron enamelware.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 sheets pre-prepared puff pastries
  • Powdered sugar to taste

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, Mix the strawberries with sugar coating well
  2. Add to your cast iron skillet on low heat to soften
  3. Once the sugar starts to dissolve, turn off heat so it doesn't overcook
  4. Now stir in vanilla extract well and set aside
  5. Roll out your puff pastries flat to cover the bottom of your skillet
  6. Next, use your strawberry compote to fill-up the puff pastry and fold over top edges
  7. Bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees, top with powdered sugar and enjoy!
