The challenge to find replacement wheels for antique lawn sweepers, success!

I have a mid 80's era Sears/Craftsman 30 lawn sweeper which recently gave out totally as a result of worn-out wheels. I appreciate the detailed dimensions of the wheel assembly on the Agri Supply WEB site, and I could compare what I had with this potential replacement. There was a high degree of compatibility (diameter of the wheel that drives the sweeping action, overall wheel diameter, number of teeth). Not as compatible with the dimensions associated with the axle. I measured 0.6 in on my Craftsman sweeper and the 5/8 in specified by Agri Supply. I realized that I should be able to find a "bushing". Immediately after receiving the replacement wheels, I found that a short piece of 1/2 in copper pipe came very close: there was still a small wiggle, but I could not make the drive jump over a tooth. Now it is a matter of keep using it, until it fails again.... More detailed pictures are available from the author.
