I've looked at these for a while. I maintain my neighborhood gravel drive and another driveway totaling about a mile and a half between the two. I did both in a fraction of the time as previously taken with a box grader. I agree with a previous comment regarding the shank pins but also agree that's an easy fix. As for quality, I put it to the test on one driveway. It hadn't been maintained in years and it was packed hard as concrete. I took a couple slow passes with the shanks engaged about an inch below the skids and scratched up the surface. Then lifted the shanks and ran a couple passes with the blades only, gradually increasing the speed of the draw. I wish I could post a before and after pic. We haven't had gravel on that drive in 15 years but I left it looking like we had two inches of fresh gravel just dumped. No signs of damage, issues or wear yet, despite the heavy "break in." Very pleased with this implement. One note - I've seen varying reports online about whether this will level a driveway. Its angled blades draw the gravel to the middle, leaving a proper slight pitch to the roadway. The more passes, the more pitch. However, the scraper blade and/or box blade are better for an initial or heavy re-grade effort. This is perfect for maintenance and slight re-grade. — Jason from VA

I compared this product (Item 105957) to the Tarter LG206 6' land plane and for $100 more, with this item I got adjustable blades and another 150lbs of weight. Solid build, replaceable components. The Tarter LG206 was on the yard and had fixed cutting edges but not listed on the website. It was $1399 at 450lbs.

I bought this yesterday. I took it on a job today that I bid 6 hours on and I finished the job in 3 hours. (it normally takes 3 hours with a box blade) So I went to a second job that was scheduled for tomorrow and I finished it up in half the time also. On 1st job I leveled the dirt in a yard, the other job was grading a road. The ONLY bad thing I see is the pins that hold the shanks are not strong enough but that is a simple thing to change. Blades are adjustable in height. Where a box blade is pulling a lot of dirt but is going up an down in holes the scraper stays level over the terrain and fills and cuts nicely.
