EZ Gate™ Tailgate Lift Assist, 180 Lb. Capacity

I bought it for my 5x8 trailer with a 49' tailgate. Trailer is like most in the Southeast and built with 2 inch angle iron as opposed to tubing. Two things to keep in mind is that the hardware kit is for the tubing top rail, so if you buy it for a trailer like mine, go ahead and buy 6, 1.5 inch, 18 thread bolts and nuts and at least 6 washers to make your life easier. I can say this too, unless you install these every day, it is going to take more than an hour for installation as the instructions suggest. Took 3 hours to complete mine, a lot of that in drilling 1/2 and 5/16 inch holes in that angle iron. Take time and get your measurements checked and double checked, then follow the instruction guide. End result for me, it worked great with my first test after completion and looks good on my black trailer. It has made the difference between a two handed struggle lifting the tailgate to an easy one hand lift. I am impressed and from the weight and visual quality of the materials, I feel that this was a great choice for me.

I put this on my 6ft by 12 ft utility trailer after I had rotator cuff surgery. All you have to do is touch the bottom of the gate with the top of your foot when the gate is down and it will jump up into place.
